Rihanna Finally Speaks Out About THAT Incident...

Rihanna on cover of Glamour magazine

It was going to happen sooner rather than later - and what better way to discuss the incident between Rihanna and Chris Brown than in a magazine interview.

The only surprising thing was her decision to go with Glamour - then again, she was awarded a Woman of the Year Award by the magazine so perhaps that helped her decision on choosing who to reveal all to...

I won't put in ALL the interview (you can go out and buy Glamour mag yourself!) but I will add in the most juicy parts.

I am so glad that Rihanna finally spoke out about the incident.  Not only is it a weight off her shoulders  (im sure) but I can bet thousands of her fans want to hear about what happened, how she is coping and her feelings towards domestic violence.

Glamour: Let’s talk about this past year—you’ve obviously been through some difficult things. How did the people around you help you cope?

Rihanna: My friends and family have been extremely supportive, and everyone has been there for me. But at some point you are there alone. It’s a lonely place to be—no one can understand. That’s when you get close to God.

Glamour: Are you referring to the [Chris Brown] incident?

Rihanna: I am talking about starting with the night [before] the Grammys and then on. That was not the only thing that occurred this year. The picture leaking…it was one thing after another.

Glamour: You’re talking about the photo [reportedly of Rihanna’s injured face taken by police after Brown assaulted her] that was allegedly leaked by cops. You handled that so well; you kept silent in the press.

Rihanna: It was humiliating; that is not a photo you would show to anybody. I felt completely taken advantage of. I felt like people were making it into a fun topic on the Internet, and it’s my life. I was disappointed, especially when I found out the photo was [supposedly leaked by] two women.

Glamour: How has this event changed you as a person, as a woman?

Rihanna: I’m stronger, wiser and more aware. You don’t realize how much your decisions affect people you don’t even know, like fans.

Glamour: Do you think you’ve gotten your strength from your mom?

Rihanna: Definitely. My mom gave us the tools to survive…. My parents separated when I was eight or nine. I helped her raise my [youngest] brother, because my mom was working all the time. He’s my favorite.

Glamour: Do you feel that this experience has laid the groundwork for coping with anything so public again?

Rihanna: It has taught me so much. I felt like I went to sleep as Rihanna and woke up as Britney Spears. That was the level of media chaos that happened the next day. It was like, What, there are helicopters circling my house? There are 100 people in my cul-de-sac? What do you mean, I can’t go back home?

Glamour: If you could offer a message to the millions of young women who look up to you, what would you tell someone who found herself in a similar situation?

Rihanna: Domestic violence is a big secret. No kid goes around and lets people know their parents fight. Teenage girls can’t tell their parents that their boyfriend beat them up. You don’t dare let your neighbor know that you fight. It’s one of the things we [women] will hide, because it’s embarrassing. My story was broadcast all over the world for people to see, and they have followed every step of my recovery. The positive thing that has come out of my situation is that people can learn from that. I want to give as much insight as I can to young women, because I feel like I represent a voice that really isn’t heard. Now I can help speak for those women.

So what do you think of Rihanna's interview?

Keisha Leaves/Gets Kicked out of Sugababes!

Keisha leaves/gets kicked out of the Sugababes

They were my favourite British girl group of 21st century growing up (after Destiny's Child of course!) I loved the way the trio were so unique in looks, singing and dancing abilities. Although they were as pop as you can get, they were always a lot more edgier/street/had more credibility than Girls Aloud and any other manufactured girl group of their time.

Original line up of the Sugababes Mutya, Keisha and Siobhan

They had their fair share of tabloid gossip, and media lows. Formed in 1998, the first member to leave the band was Siobhan Donaghy soon after their first album was released and was replaced by Heidi Range.

2nd line up change.. Mutya, Heidi and Keisha

Years later Mutya left starting out again in the music industry as a solo artist and was replaced by Amelle Berrabah. Last week reports that Amelle had missed live performances as she was unhappy in the band because of Keisha's "bullying" had surfaced in the press. Keisha fought back on her Twitter page tweeting:-

"About me bullying Amelle, not being supportive, blah blah blah. I've let the papers tell lies about me when it comes to stories like that in the past, I've let members talk crap about me and tried to laugh it off because I know the truth, my friends, family and MOST of all GOD. But not anymore. I may come across as a hard nut sometimes, but I'm actually really sensitive and it destroys me to think that people today are going to read that and believe it."

3rd line up change Keisha, Amelle, Heidi

After that rumours went crazy that Amelle was being replaced by Eurovision song contest UK contester Jade Ewen. Then on the 22nd September Sugababes record label Island Records (under Universal) released this statement:-

"The current line-up of the Sugababes has disbanded. Heidi Range and Amelle Berrabah will continue as the Sugababes and will be joined by new member Jade Ewen. They release their album Sweet 7 on the 23rd November through Island Records. Keisha Buchanan will continue to record for Island Records as a solo artist."

Heidi and Amelle will stay in the Sugababes

Hmmmm something smells fishy if you ask me! If anyone was going to be leaving wouldn't it have been Amelle? Speaking of quitting did Keisha really quit or was she kicked out of the Sugababes? Reading her response on Twitter doesn't make things any clearer...

"I've had a great time and have achieved more then I ever thought I would.. Although it was not my choice to leave, it's time to enter a new chapter in my life. Now I'm going to take some time to focus on me. I've been in this band for 11 years and I have achieved so much. This is not the end... but the beginning!!!!"

And to make the situation even more complex ex Sugababe Mutya also commented on the split on her Twitter:-

"It all started so innocently...a love for music and a dream...look what its become. RIP. I will say this publicly... shame on Heidi for not following Keisha out. But doesn't surprise me a bit."

New Sugababes - Amelle, Jade (middle) and Heidi

Wow rumours Keisha bullied Amelle, new member of Sugababe, Keisha walking out/kicked out, Mutya exposing Heidi on Twitter this is better than an episode of Making the Band/Maury Povich and Eastenders put together!!!

Can Keisha make it alone as a solo artist?

On a serious note, its a sad day for Sugababes. I never believed Keisha was a bully and so I truly wish Keisha the best in her solo career. With no original members of the band remaining, I very much doubt Sugababes can move on from this messy break-up..do you? Thoughts!

PS I loved this song..oh what a shame!

Kanye's Court Case Delayed

Kanye's court case has been delayed and will not face charges until May 2009.
Lucky for him, his lawyer was granted a delay to enter his plea on assault, theft and vandalism charges following the incident with a photographer last September.
Kanye at the airport before the incident occurred...
If you didn't see the footage you can find it on here provided by yours truly, of Kanye a going crazy at the photographer and his road manager, Dan Crawley smashing the photographer's camera. Oh no he didn't!
See it on http://www.tmz.com/2008/09/12/kanye-west-may-skate/

Parky doesn't hold back!

TV legend Michale Parkinson has spoken out about Jade Goody's media coverage calling it, "a representation of all that's paltry and wretched about Britain today."
Michael Parkinson
If someone had told me that it was Johnathon Ross or Russell Brand or any other loud mouth television personality then I wouldn't be so surprised but Michael Parkinson?! Never! The veteran chat-show host has voiced his opinion on the Jade Goody affair - criticising the way the media have "exploited" the Big Brother star. "I feel sorry for the poor girl, " he says. "I think she was totally exploited from the moment she went on Big Brother. I thought it was very poor, I thought the people who did that should be ashamed of themselves. I have been a journalist for 60 years and I am appalled by what's happened to my profession, she was exploited mercilessly by the media. Jade Goody has her own place in the history of television and, while it's significant, it's nothing to be proud of." OOOer!!!
Jade Goody
“Her death is as sad as the death of any young person, but it's not the passing of a martyr or a saint or, God help us, Princess Di,” he says. “When we clear the media smoke screen from around her death, what we're left with is a woman who came to represent all that's paltry and wretched about Britain today." MSN news reported this story and received thousands of comments left from people on their forums with half agreeing and disagreeing with his comments. What do you think? Was Michael right or are his comments too insensitive?

Chris Brown SPEAKS!!!

Chris Brown
So after more than a week of drama, followed by gossip, rumours and more random "sources" and "reports" and "friends speaking out" Chris Breezy finally..well..releases a statement - and about time too!!! He said:- "Words cannot begin to express how sorry and saddened I am over what transpired. I am seeking the counseling of my pastor, my mother and other loved ones and I am committed, with God's help, to emerging a better person. Much of what has been speculated or reported on blogs and/or reported in the media is wrong. While I would like to be able to talk about this more, until the legal issues are resolved, this is all I can say except that I have not written any messages or made any posts to Facebook, on blogs or any place else. Those posts or writings under my name are frauds." - Chris Brown 16/02/09 Thoughts?!?
