Ciara Does the Migraine Skank!

LoveLoveLove it when a celebrity reveals that they are just like us mere mortals - and in this case it was the Princess of Crunk Ciara when she visited London last week... Gracious "Nappaman" K (famous for club banger Migraine Skank) showed Ciara how to do the infamous "migraine skank" when being interviewed by Mista Jam on his Radio 1 show.
Wasn't she good?! Most artists wouldn't have even bothered but she looked like she was enjoying it to - and so she should! Britain offers more than tea, cockney rhyming slang and the Queen! The UK music scene is moving forward and it's about time the US recognise that :-)

Defoe's MC Brother Killed

Jermain Defoe
Footballer, Jermain Defoe's half-brother, Jade Defoe died on Friday after a daylight street attack in Walnut Gardens, East London. A post-mortem confirmed that Jade suffered serious head injuries. A 28 year old man has been arrested in connection with the death of Jade Defoe, and has been released on bail. Jade 26, also known as EscoBar, was an MC from Slew Dem Cru and appeared on Grime DVDs such as Lord of the Mics 2. More than 600 friends and fans joined a tribute page created on Facebook. Jermain Defoe was withdrawn from the Tottenham Hotspur game that lost 5-2 to Manchester United on Saturday. A spokesman for Tottenham Hotspurs said: "All at the club wish to extend their condolences to Jermain Defoe and his family following the death of his half-brother." Unfortunately not all the reports and statements were as sensitive. The Sun threw all sensitivity out of the window and released these details about Jermain and his family: "Jermain, also 26, and Jade had the same Father, crack addict Jimmy Defoe. He has three other sons, all by different mothers, but the half-brothers are said to be close." WTF??? Why is it necessary to release all of this negative information? Is it so important to release details that Jermain's father is a "Crack addict" and has three other sons by three different mothers??? The fact that the Sun has mentioned the brothers are close is also slightly strange. Are siblings not usually close? Especially when a tragedy such as this affects a family? Or is there an exception for those with crack head fathers - perhaps they don't share the same closeness as those without parents without an addiction? To say I'm shocked would be a lie because I don't expect anything less than a low-class trashy newspaper like the Sun to report on such nonsense. But that's where yours truly steps in, reporting straight facts minus the B.S..rant over! :-) I've added some clips of Jade doing what he does best. R.I.P EscoBar...

Swine Flu..Who knew?!

If this is not child abuse I don't know what is!
Mexico has closed its schools across its capital last Friday after 16 people died and more than 900 others fell ill from what could be -wait for it -SWINE FLU. And you thought you had heard it all! The World Health Organisation (WHO) has counted at least 57 deaths in Mexico although it wasn't clear if this large number is due to swine flu. “We are very, very concerned,” WHO spokesman Thomas Abraham said. “We have what appears to be a novel virus and it has spread from human to human.” If international spread is confirmed, that meets WHO’s criteria for raising the pandemic alert level, he added. The World Health Organisation worried that it could mark the start of a flu pandemic. Scientists in the U.S and Mexico were trying to determine if the deaths were due to the same new strain of swine flu that sickended seven people in Texas and California.
Perhaps if some people wouldn't allow their children to swap saliva with one of the foulest animals in the world then SWINE flu wouldn't have spread so quickly. Will keep you updated!

Throwback Track of the Week

Who Hearts HipHop Soul??
So... I was feeling in one of those "back in the day" moods and decided to turn to good old Jodeci to get me "feenin" (lol) their old skool tunes. As much as I loooooooove Day 26 (new album, Forever In A Day, is just too much - didn't think they could do one better than their debut album!) no one can touch K-Ci and JoJo's silky vocals. Diddy you done good! The first time I heard "Diary of a Mad Band" I was about seven, having had my older sister bless my innocent ears with HipHop Soul those songs have stayed with me since then, Feenin', My Heart Belongs To You, and All You Got..but their debut album, "Forever My Lady" really showed the world what talented soulful vocalists Jodeci were. And how could we forget Devante! - the original sweet boy!! :-) Ladies will never forget his cheesy actions: "accidentally" revealing torso shots and gazes into the camera by the Casanova of the group. So here is one of the most romantic love-story videos ever made. Enjoy Jodeci and thank Diddy for actually keeping a band long enough for a second album (you can tell I'm still pissed about Danity Kane can't you?!):-
Jodeci - Love U 4 Life
Oh and for good measure I'm adding in H-Town too. Yes its those twins!! Love love loooooooooooooove this tune a classic if there ever was one - they ultimately made "knocking boots" phrase mainstream! One of the funniest intros too - A member of the group is being interviewed by a Brummie reporter. How RANDOM is that?! I didn't even know Americans knew back then the UK had such diverse accents and H-Town go and add a girl from Birmingham. In the interview, she (stupidly) asks them asking what "Knocking Boots" meant. Oh dear, maybe they got one thing right...! Unfortunately the lead singer, Keven A. Conner also known as Dino was killed in a car accident in 2003. The remaining members of the band, his suriving twin brother Soloman "Shazam" and Darryl "G.I" still continue to tour as H-Town. R.I.P Dino x

For some STRANGE reason my profile views aren't increasing.... Now, now, I'm not trying to say that I am lil miss Blog-popular with so many people hitting up my page but its been 460 views for a loooooooooooong time and I'm starting to realise something isn't right. If anyone knows how to change this let me know - a girl needs to keep track of her profile view count! :-)
Toodles! x

You're a Jerk

These kids are like the cutest things I've ever seen! I don't know where they are from or what made them decide to start doing crazy moves on the street and in their kitchen...but hey as long as their not getting into trouble then that's all that matters. So this is meant to be the new dance craze (hate that word "craze"!) called jerking..hmmm interesting choice of vocabularly but when you see them in action you'll understand! I think they look cute and more importantly it makes me wanna practice in my kitchen! (Did I say that out loud?! :-) Though my only concern is how friggin TIGHT those skinny jeans are! I'm glad to see it's not just the UK that has the problem with young men wearing jeans tighter than mine - just plain wrong whichever way you look at it!!!

Scratched Out - The Urban Musical

R&D Productions is holding a Charity Gala performance of "Scratched Out - The Urban Musical" in aid of the African Caribbean Leukaemia Trust (ACLT) on Saturday 18th April, 7:30pm at Riverside Studios in Hammersmith. "Scratched Out" is an Urban Musical about six young people from an inner-city estate who all have ambitions of making it in the music industry. The story takes place during the course of one evening at a pirate radio station and a club. As the record spins, the drama unfolds, revealing the soundtrack to a night that changes the lives of all six characters... Directed and composed by Richard Hale with lyrics by London spoken word favourite, Dean Atta, the production was written, produced and performed by a cast and crew who are all under the age of 25 and who have chosen to channel their creative energies into the medium of musical theatre.

Scratched Out Trailer

The Gala Night will feature a performance of the musical, a secret auction, raffle, drinks and canapes, followed by a live performance by jazz inspired artist Ayanna Witter-Johnson; Daley, a unique singer-songwriter and the cast's very own Sloozie, a contemporary urban music style. There will be a secret auction on the night which includes a designer dress by Ricky Briggs, custom made to fit the winner, as well as a raffle with some fantastic prizes! Proceeds from the night will be donated to the ACLT whose representatives will be our special guests on the evening. It is a vibrant, dynamic and engaging production which will provoke thought, turn heads and ultimately shine a positive light on what can be achieved by young people in the face of adversity. It is also a great opportunity to support the ACLT as all proceeds go to the charity.

This is truly a night not to be missed!

What do YOU think??

So Cassie has decided on a new "look"....
Girl leave it ALONE! There is only one Rihanna, Amber Rose, Alice Dellal and I thought there was only one Cassie but oh no you've gone and followed the crowd like every other artist. I'm all for experimenting but that is just AWFUL!

Pic Says It All...

When I saw this, all I could do is just shake my head, in shock.

Britain's Got REAL Talent

Britain's Got Talent Judges
Everyone has been talking about Susan Boyle, the 47 year old lady who stunned the audience and judges with her rendition of Les Miserables. Yes she was great but I was more impressed with Flawless the dance group! You may have seen them in music videos or performing on MTV as Flawless have been around since February 2005 winning titles such as UK's Top Street Dance Champions and World Hip Hop Dance Champions in 2006. The UK World Dance Champions from North London performed in the London auditions of Britain's Got Talent and they too received a standing ovation (though I'm sure they had brought the biggest entourage along with them!) If you missed it here's your chance to see them perform again..

She'll Be Turning In Her Grave...

Can't say I didn't see this one coming... Jack Tweed has been sentenced to 12 weeks in prisons for assaulting a taxi driver. Jack denied the charge but was found guilty. It is the second time he will serve time in jail on an assault charge. *Big yawn* I for one do NOT feel sorry for this loser and neither should the public - he should not get any special treatment for committing these offences. In fact, why am I even covering this story?! Oh I remember now - a message to anyone out there who is thinking about attacking the poor and innocent... If you can't do the time, don't do the crime biatches!!!
Jack Tweed

Kanye's Court Case Delayed

Kanye's court case has been delayed and will not face charges until May 2009.
Lucky for him, his lawyer was granted a delay to enter his plea on assault, theft and vandalism charges following the incident with a photographer last September.
Kanye at the airport before the incident occurred...
If you didn't see the footage you can find it on here provided by yours truly, of Kanye a going crazy at the photographer and his road manager, Dan Crawley smashing the photographer's camera. Oh no he didn't!
See it on

Parky doesn't hold back!

TV legend Michale Parkinson has spoken out about Jade Goody's media coverage calling it, "a representation of all that's paltry and wretched about Britain today."
Michael Parkinson
If someone had told me that it was Johnathon Ross or Russell Brand or any other loud mouth television personality then I wouldn't be so surprised but Michael Parkinson?! Never! The veteran chat-show host has voiced his opinion on the Jade Goody affair - criticising the way the media have "exploited" the Big Brother star. "I feel sorry for the poor girl, " he says. "I think she was totally exploited from the moment she went on Big Brother. I thought it was very poor, I thought the people who did that should be ashamed of themselves. I have been a journalist for 60 years and I am appalled by what's happened to my profession, she was exploited mercilessly by the media. Jade Goody has her own place in the history of television and, while it's significant, it's nothing to be proud of." OOOer!!!
Jade Goody
“Her death is as sad as the death of any young person, but it's not the passing of a martyr or a saint or, God help us, Princess Di,” he says. “When we clear the media smoke screen from around her death, what we're left with is a woman who came to represent all that's paltry and wretched about Britain today." MSN news reported this story and received thousands of comments left from people on their forums with half agreeing and disagreeing with his comments. What do you think? Was Michael right or are his comments too insensitive?

If You Didn't Know Already...

Chris Brezzy on his way from court
Chris Brown appeared in a Los Angeles court last week and pleaded "not guilty" to threatening and assaulting his on/off girlfriend, Rihanna.
Chris in court
He was dressed all in black and only spoke to enter his plea (of not guilty). Chris was represented by his lawyer Mark Geragos and Rihanna (who was no present) was represented by her lawyer Donald Etra who said she was "in fine spirits." If by that he means the latest pics of RiRi going house-searching on holidays and partying in Hollywood then yes, I guess she is.
