Scratched Out - The Urban Musical

R&D Productions is holding a Charity Gala performance of "Scratched Out - The Urban Musical" in aid of the African Caribbean Leukaemia Trust (ACLT) on Saturday 18th April, 7:30pm at Riverside Studios in Hammersmith. "Scratched Out" is an Urban Musical about six young people from an inner-city estate who all have ambitions of making it in the music industry. The story takes place during the course of one evening at a pirate radio station and a club. As the record spins, the drama unfolds, revealing the soundtrack to a night that changes the lives of all six characters... Directed and composed by Richard Hale with lyrics by London spoken word favourite, Dean Atta, the production was written, produced and performed by a cast and crew who are all under the age of 25 and who have chosen to channel their creative energies into the medium of musical theatre.

The Gala Night will feature a performance of the musical, a secret auction, raffle, drinks and canapes, followed by a live performance by jazz inspired artist Ayanna Witter-Johnson; Daley, a unique singer-songwriter and the cast's very own Sloozie, a contemporary urban music style. There will be a secret auction on the night which includes a designer dress by Ricky Briggs, custom made to fit the winner, as well as a raffle with some fantastic prizes! Proceeds from the night will be donated to the ACLT whose representatives will be our special guests on the evening. It is a vibrant, dynamic and engaging production which will provoke thought, turn heads and ultimately shine a positive light on what can be achieved by young people in the face of adversity. It is also a great opportunity to support the ACLT as all proceeds go to the charity.

This is truly a night not to be missed!

Everyone has been talking about Susan Boyle, the 47 year old lady who stunned the audience and judges with her rendition of Les Miserables. Yes she was great but I was more impressed with Flawless the dance group! You may have seen them in music videos or performing on MTV as Flawless have been around since February 2005 winning titles such as UK's Top Street Dance Champions and World Hip Hop Dance Champions in 2006. The UK World Dance Champions from North London performed in the London auditions of Britain's Got Talent and they too received a standing ovation (though I'm sure they had brought the biggest entourage along with them!) If you missed it here's your chance to see them perform again..

She'll Be Turning In Her Grave...

Can't say I didn't see this one coming... Jack Tweed has been sentenced to 12 weeks in prisons for assaulting a taxi driver. Jack denied the charge but was found guilty. It is the second time he will serve time in jail on an assault charge. *Big yawn* I for one do NOT feel sorry for this loser and neither should the public - he should not get any special treatment for committing these offences. In fact, why am I even covering this story?! Oh I remember now - a message to anyone out there who is thinking about attacking the poor and innocent... If you can't do the time, don't do the crime biatches!!!

Kanye's Court Case Delayed

Kanye's court case has been delayed and will not face charges until May 2009.

Lucky for him, his lawyer was granted a delay to enter his plea on assault, theft and vandalism charges following the incident with a photographer last September.

Parky doesn't hold back!

TV legend Michale Parkinson has spoken out about Jade Goody's media coverage calling it, "a representation of all that's paltry and wretched about Britain today."

If someone had told me that it was Johnathon Ross or Russell Brand or any other loud mouth television personality then I wouldn't be so surprised but Michael Parkinson?! Never! The veteran chat-show host has voiced his opinion on the Jade Goody affair - criticising the way the media have "exploited" the Big Brother star. "I feel sorry for the poor girl, " he says. "I think she was totally exploited from the moment she went on Big Brother. I thought it was very poor, I thought the people who did that should be ashamed of themselves. I have been a journalist for 60 years and I am appalled by what's happened to my profession, she was exploited mercilessly by the media. Jade Goody has her own place in the history of television and, while it's significant, it's nothing to be proud of." OOOer!!!

“Her death is as sad as the death of any young person, but it's not the passing of a martyr or a saint or, God help us, Princess Di,” he says. “When we clear the media smoke screen from around her death, what we're left with is a woman who came to represent all that's paltry and wretched about Britain today." MSN news reported this story and received thousands of comments left from people on their forums with half agreeing and disagreeing with his comments. What do you think? Was Michael right or are his comments too insensitive?

Chris Brown appeared in a Los Angeles court last week and pleaded "not guilty" to threatening and assaulting his on/off girlfriend, Rihanna.

He was dressed all in black and only spoke to enter his plea (of not guilty). Chris was represented by his lawyer Mark Geragos and Rihanna (who was no present) was represented by her lawyer Donald Etra who said she was "in fine spirits." If by that he means the latest pics of RiRi going house-searching on holidays and partying in Hollywood then yes, I guess she is.
