Chris Brown Pulls out of Kids Choice Awards

Kids Choice Award
Chris Brown has asked for his name to be taken off the potential list of winners, it has emerged. 19-year-old Brown, was up for both favourite male singer and song at the Nickelodeon's Kids' Choice Awards to be held on 28th March 2009. However, an online petition was made for his name to be withdrawn after 100,000 signatures were collected in three days.
Chris Brown
As everyone well knows, Brown was arrested last month (wow was it that long already?) after a row with his girlfriend, Rihanna. Nickelodeon has offered its support in the decision to keep Brown in the award ceremony, spokesman Dan Martinsen said, "Chris Brown was nominated by kids several months ago based on his body of work as performer, and the kids who vote will ultimately decide who wins in the category." However, Brown's spokesperson said the singer appreciated the nominations but felt, "the incident last month has shifted the focus from the music."

What do you think? Should Chris still be nominated regardless of the incident that occurred or did he make the right decision to withdraw from the award show? Discuss!

Michael Jackson SOLD OUT!

Michael Jackson
Critics say he couldn't do it, but I always knew he would. I mean, this isn't just any artist, it is THE King of Pop Mr. Jackson himself. And Mr. Jackson officialy SOLD OUT his UK tour in three days. According to the BBC, Sky News and several other news channels, hundreds of fans queued up for the general sale of Michael Jackson's "This Is It" tour at the 02 arena in Greenwich today.
Manic Michael fans queuing at the 02 today
Excuse me, but were these reporters actually THERE?? Or is this secondary information because I also have my sources and they came with their own reports and even pictures to prove it!!! My sources (who will remain nameless!) queued from 4am this morning and didn't get their tickets until 1pm this afternoon - if those aren't MJ fans I don't know who is!!!
Fans were camping out in all types of tents
Several tents, chairs, endless empty food containers and wrappers, smelly, chatty, moany and grumpy there were hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of fans queuing for those once in a life-time limited MJ tickets. And wouldn't you if you knew this could be the last time to see the King of Pop performing classics like Thriller, Rock With You and Billie Jean???
Channel 4 camera crew arrived just in time to capture the huge crowds
The queues were worse than Thorpe Park (and you know how bad they get!) and there were no luxury queue-jumping options either. It was literally survival of the fittest and only the toughest survived the jungle out there! Organisers, AEG Live, say that "This Is It" has become the fastest selling tour in history with 33 seats sold each minute. Those are crazy Jackson fans for sure because those tickets sold out like gold-dust. Can you tell how excited I am, there are actually colour fonts in this blog?!? :-) People are already complaining that MJ won't be physically able to perform all his 37 dates in the UK. To say that thought hasn't come to mind would be a lie because it has. But do you know something - im willing to pay money to see one of the best entertainers in the world whether regardless of what the critics say. Anyone who knows me, knows that I never listen to those darn critics. It is, after all, one person's opinion.
MJ performing in his prime
So here is a message to all those so called critics out there- stop drinking that Haterade because MJ fans don't wanna hear it! I don't know any MJ fan (because I know not everyone is a fan of Michael) who wouldn't pay good money to see MJ whether he is performing on stage or even just to catch a glimpse of him - he is truly a work of art both as a performer and well, you know, physically speaking! I'd pay good money to see both the moon-walk and that NOSE goddamit!:-) Anyhoo I've got my ticket..hope you got yours?! See you at the 02 in Feb 09!!!

Kerry Katona is (finally) Getting a Divorce

Mark and Kerry in...happier times
Oh Kerry... Why did it take you so long to realise that your hubby, former cabbie turned PR agent (!) was just NOT that into you?! Kerry, who is filming another series of her MTV fly on the wall reality tv show, revealed the moment Kerry called her publicist to confirm she is ending her marriage to Mark. She said on camera: “All I can say was, you were all f****** right. I’ve just told me mum and please don’t say ‘I told you so.’ It’s the last thing I need to hear.”

The Sun revealed earlier this week that Kerry had changed her facebook status from "married" to "single." Today Kerry, who has two children with Mark and two from her previous marriage, broke down in tears as her spokesman read a statement to the press outside her home in Wilmslow, Cheshire.
Kerry outside her home today
Since her marriage to Mark, who has been publicly criticised by Kerry's family and friends in the press, Kerry has faced bankruptcy. This will be Kerry's second divorce in five years as she separated with her first husband, Brian McFadden in 2005.

Why I love the Paps...

Lily being..well Lily
I don't know what it is about those blasted Paps, but one thing I do know is that they always seem to know when a celeb just so "happens" to be around. Must be a photographers sixth sense, ALWAYS knowing when to turn up and being at the right place at the right time. I mean, it wouldn't be anything like a celebrity or their PR camp/publicist setting the pics up -that would just be absurd!!! :-p Anyhoo here is the Princess of Paps, Lily Allen doing what she does best, attacking the paparazi for doing there job (getting a shot that wasn't *shock horror *set-up) and Lily not liking it because she wasn't expecting it. Oooooh these princesses of pop eh?!

Big Wigs Dun Dun It Again...

Youtube announced it has begun blocking music videos to UK users following (in their words not mine) a "failure to reach an agreement with PRS for Music" on a new royalities deal. Youtube, one of the world's most popular video sharing websites, were asked to pay an amount to the collecting agency for writers, composers and publishers, PRS for Music. Patrick Walker, Youtube's Director of Video Partnerships in Europe, told the Financial Times:- "I don't think anyone is going to be happy about this, but there's general understanding that we all need to work under terms that are reasonable for our businesses and we're hoping we'll come to a quick resolution." NAH - you don't say. Excuse me, but why do WE the general pubic who have made this US-based video comapny one of the top five market websites in the UK, have to be punished for GOOGLE Inc's greediness and PRS Music's lack of negotiation skills? It is we, the public, who spend endless hours surfing through the various video content on offer. So why are they punishing us and most importantly the UK writers, composers and publishers that are to be considered as well.
User playing Miley Cyrus video on Youtube
Steve Porter, chief executive of PRS for Music, said the organisation was "shocked and disappointed" at the last-minute notice of YouTube's "drastic action". "We believe [this] only punishes British consumers and the songwriters whose interests we protect and represent." Youtube's drastic decision means that although they will not be blocking music uploaded by artists or users independently, official preminum music videos will start to disappear from searches made by the UK public. Should Youtube agree to PRS for Music's agreement or should they fight against it and continue to block preminum Uk videos? Discuss?

Gordan Praises Goody...

Last night Gordon Brown became involved in the Jade Goody debate discussing whether she should make money from her illness. What with the economic crisis and other concerns of the world going on, I am sure you are thinking, "Hasn't the Prime Minister of United Kingdom got anything better to do than comment on celebrity's person lives and their decisions?" Hmmm obviously not! He said:-
"Her determination to help her family is something that we have got to applaud and I wish her family well."

Last week Goody, 27, who suffers from cervical cancer, was told her illness was terminal and has just months to live. Controversially, she has decided to use media coverage of herself to raise money for her two children, Bobby five and Freddy four.

Jade is expected to make up to 1 million from selling the rights to her wedding day, expected to take place this Sunday 22nd February 2009. The wedding is scheduled to take place at Down Hall a house hotel in Essex. Though it will be broadcast on Living TV in mid March.
Will you be watching it?? I will!
